We are seeking an intrinsically motivated individual eager to take the next step in developing their finance career to join our Accolade team as a Balance Sheet Advisor I. In this role, you will play a crucial part in assisting our team of investment advisors in formulating and executing balance sheet strategies for our credit union clients. This position will also support business development activities by responding to inquiries and leads regarding services that Accolade provides. It is expected that this position will evolve into a more client facing, consultative role over time.

This position may work from home or the office depending on preference. Candidates may be located in any state in which we employ staff, although the greater Columbus, Ohio area is preferred.

Main Responsibilities:
• Reviews and evaluates Asset Liability Management (ALM) model results, identifies straightforward to somewhat complex anomalies and reports findings to Accolade advisors. Assists clients in the interpretation and understanding of interest rate risk levels and trends.
• Collects data from clients monthly/quarterly per established process and validates data for reasonableness. Works with clients to troubleshoot and problem solve issues with data collection and integrity.
• In partnership with senior Accolade investment advisers, provides counsel and support to clients in the organization of the Asset Liability Committee (ALCO) process. Participates in the ALCO meetings of clients to answer questions and provide guidance on the balance sheet impact of strategic decisions.
• Delivers excellent public relations and relationship management services for Accolade. Provides support to the sales process.
• Performs ad-hoc analysis and research at the request of senior Accolade investment advisers. Develops and supports tools used to produce Investment Advisory deliverables.
• Proactively pursues professional development opportunities pertaining to investment and client management, and the credit union industry.
• Flexible to perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Desired Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of related progressive experience in addition to educational requirements listed above, balance sheet management for a financial institution is preferred.
• Specific Job Knowledge and Skills Required: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, problem solving abilities, effective communication skills and an understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting are required. Licensed Investment Advisor Representative (Series 65) preferred and/or must be obtained within 180 days of employment.
• Technology Skills Required: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook. Power BI analysis and Bloomberg a plus.
