SVP Operations

The SVP of Operations is responsible for overseeing compliance, information technology, and back-office functions within the credit union. As a key member of the leadership team, this role contributes to the development and execution of the credit union’s strategic plan.

Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Strategy

Provide strong leadership that fosters trust, collaboration, and a positive workplace culture.
Actively participate in developing and implementing the credit union’s strategic plan.
Ensure effective communication across departments regarding products, services, policies, and procedures.
Maintain a comprehensive understanding of credit union products and services, promoting high standards for quality and member experience.
Develop and maintain timely, data-driven reporting for management decision-making.
Present reports to the Board of Directors, senior management, and staff, keeping stakeholders informed of trends and organizational updates.
Recommend initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and drive growth.
Keep the President/CEO informed on key operational matters.
Represent the credit union positively in the community through active participation in local events and organizations.
Compliance & Security

Serve as the Compliance and Security Officer, ensuring the credit union’s safety and regulatory adherence.
Monitor and interpret laws and regulations impacting credit union wide compliance, particularly regarding the Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act, and OFAC.
Ensure timely filing of BSA reports and compliance with Customer Identification Program (CIP) requirements.
Assess credit union policies, procedures, products, and programs for regulatory compliance, recommending necessary changes.
Serve as a subject matter expert on compliance-related matters, providing guidance and answering inquiries.
Communicate policy or procedural changes clearly across the organization, ensuring effective implementation.
Assist in revising forms, products, websites, disclosures and programs to meet regulatory requirements.
Develop and facilitate compliance training programs for staff and Board members.
Coordinate with auditors and examiners during all required engagements. Facilitate third-party BSA audits.
Information Technology

Collaborate with the CEO and IT service providers to develop and execute strategic IT plans.
Oversee IT infrastructure, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
Maintain and enforce disaster recovery, information security, and loss prevention plans.
Utilize risk assessments to identify, document, and mitigate IT risks.
Stay current with emerging technologies and manage system implementations and upgrades.
Operations Management

Partner with the Operations Manager to oversee electronic payment processing, including debit/credit cards, ACH, wires, and EFT transactions.
Identify opportunities for operational improvements, service enhancements, and technology upgrades.
Ensure efficient promotion and delivery of credit union products and services.
Provide ongoing support and guidance to back-office employees. Assist with hiring, training, promotions, and performance review.
Establish and monitor departmental budgets and goals aligned with organizational objectives.
Additional Responsibilities:

Perform other duties as assigned to support the credit union’s mission and goals.
Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in a business-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of five years of financial institution experience.
Skills & Knowledge:

Strong leadership and management skills to facilitate collaboration and teamwork.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Manage multiple priorities and exercise independent judgment.
Proficient in navigating multiple computer systems and financial applications.
Self-motivated with a high level of initiative, accountability, and leadership presence.
