Director, Business Intelligence

The Director, Business Intelligence is responsible for establishing and evolving enterprise data and business intelligence vision, strategy, governance, and execution to maximize value to WPCU’s stakeholders through thought leadership for and business utilization of data-driven engagement strategies, business analyses, and systems.

*Leads and owns the development and enterprise implementation of the data strategy and roadmap and ensures its integration with the enterprise strategic planning process, and the resulting business strategy and plans. Provides a single point of coordination and executive oversight for all data initiatives. Ensure assigned business units are operating efficiently and reliably, are in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and rules, have appropriate operating controls to mitigate risk, and are performing at a high level.
*Chairs and directs the data governance committee to establish, promote and support the data standards, policies, and process to ensure the data security, quality, scalability, flexibility, and accessibility necessary to support the evolving data activities including the distributed data management activities, roles, and responsibilities across the organization.
*Ensures the credit union is developing the data assets and capabilities needed to maximize the return of value to stakeholders, including leading the organization in building advanced analytics techniques and capabilities, both internally and externally, and promoting their consistent application toward desired business outcomes though all aspects of the organization
*Connects the data needs of individual business objectives/initiatives and the common disciplines and standards necessary for effective governance, investment utilization, and cost efficiency of data management including developing, maintaining, and improving reports and dashboards.
*Develops methods to measure success of data analytics initiatives, including ROI framework analysis. Defines and reports on data intelligence business KPIs and metrics that represent progress against data goals.
*Partners with IT and Risk Management to design and maintain an enterprise data ecosystem that supports the operational and member experience in a consistent, secure, scalable, and flexible manner.
*Acts as an evangelist for building data-driven decisions into business processes across the organization.

Required Skills
*A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Science or Information Technology is preferred. *Candidates with non-business degrees may qualify with considerable experience in the primary areas of responsibility.
*At least seven years of experience in data analytics or data governance in a large, complex, data intensive organization.
*At least five years of experience in a leadership role including regular interaction with senior management.
*Proven experience developing Key Performance and Key Risk Indicators for credit unions or other financial services entities.
*Subject matter expert in data quality, data protection, and data governance principles.
*Demonstrated ability to communicate information clearly, effectively, and persuasively to internal and external stakeholders across channels and in person, along with the ability to articulate ideas in written formats and presentations.
*Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills are required, including objective assessments, problem identification, problem resolution and decision-making skills.
*Demonstrated ability to be innovative, forward thinking and change oriented.
*Ability to develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with senior business unit management, especially those in marketing, business intelligence, operations, and lending.
*Demonstrated ability with data analytics tools, systems, databases, software, and processes.
*MS Office (MS PowerPoint, Excel, and Word) proficiency required.
